my fountain pens
so over the past year and a bit i've been getting into fountain pens! as someone who journals a lot it i'd say that using such a fancy pen for it is really enhancing the experience.
so far, i've collected five. first was the kaweco sport in the colour fox. don't have much to say about this one except that it's my baby since it was the one that started this little hobby for me.
then during a stationery fest i couldn't resist getting the limited edition kaweco apricot pearl. unfortunetely, if i could i would have returned this one a long time ago. while it's very pretty, it writes kinda dry most of the time unless i put in a very wet ink. sadly, even then it doesn't perform as well as i would like, so this one is kinda a dud. but at least it's nice to look at i suppose.
after that i got a yellow lamy safari. there was a shop with them near a super market i used to go to often so every time i went there i always got super tempted to get one. in june i finally caved and bought one. i really like the cartridges lamy makes for these, especially the purple ones that i bought on a trip to Berlin, been using them ever since basically. i've seen online that some people claim that the lamy black dries quickly but as a leftie i've never seen an ink smudge more than that one.
my fourth pen is yet another kaweco, another collection, this time an al sport in ruby. got this one for my birthday and it's been my main pen that i use for most things including journalling and even lecture notes when i don't care about dealing with smudges.
however, a new contender has entered the ring for that position. about three weeks ago i finally ordered a pen that's appeared in my shopping cart many times over the past months. i got the twsbi eco t in saffron. the writing experience is probably my favourite so far and the see through body makes it even more exciting. it's got a pink ink in it - herbin's rouille d'ancre - and i use it when i'm learning japanese.
as to what i'm gonna get next i don't really know. i think i wanna save up for something more expensive like an estie or a leonardo or something japanese. there's always the temptation to get different colourways of my current pens but i'd like to refrain from that, i wanna try something new.
